Now after a little under two-years, in January 2008, Kublakai drops “The Basics”. His first full length fully produced solo debut. In it, he tackles subjects like gossip in the comical track “Whisper, Whisper”, to the struggles of being an underground MC in “Talk That Talk” to the powerful anthem track about the power of being self-informed in “Power Food.” With help from some of Seattles’ best producers including Sebino, Captain Midnite, Grieves, Slouch, Nphared and BeanOne , Kublakai has created an album that is destined to be yet another gem on the ever-growing hip hop stage.
